Club History
The one model railway club was set up in 2005 by a group of national express staff who noticed there was a lot of people in the industry who were interested in model railways but were not part of a club.
We provided until recently both a social and modelling place. As well as railway modelling, we go on days out by rail and visit other exhibitions.
Since its formation in 2005, we have been
based in
Stowmarket. The club was forced to suspend meetings in 2009 after we
were evicted by national express to
make way for an Indian Restaurant & Take away. However, this failed
to materialise and with thanks to some of our colleges, we returned to
the clubrooms in 2010.
In 2008, the club held it's first ever
model railway exhibition organised by ourselves at the Needham Market
community centre. This will now be an Annual exhibition and we look
forward to building it up.
All our members are either Active or Retired railway workers and model
in a scales N or 00 from various eras from the 1920s through to the
present day.
