Welcome to the Glasgow & West Of Scotland Model Railway club website. The club was formed in the early 20th century when modelling and railways were becoming a big hobby. Since then the club has grown and evolved into what it is today, a friendly place to enjoy the hobby to the full. 

The club is a friendly club and we aim to promote the hobby and help our members and the general public in any way we can to build model railway layouts and run them to the highest possible standard. 

The club mainly models the 1950s and 1960s British Steam and Green Diesel Era in both N gauge and 00 gauge, but recently has seen some of its members modelling BR Blue and modern day layouts. Occasionally modern era trains can be seen operating on the layouts at exhibitions.

We are based in Bearsden in Glasgow where we hold all our meetings on a Sunday between 2:30 and 5:30. We regularly attend exhibitions throughout the year.

We are looking for new members!

The Glasgow & West Of Scotland MRC are currently looking for new members. You do not have to be an excellent modeller to join our club, we believe in learning new skills from each other to help each of us further our enjoyment of our hobby.
